Selected as host for the traveling Lewis & Clark: The National Bicentennial Exhibition, the Missouri Historical Society planned this exhibit as the definitive exploration of the Lewis & Clark journey by the twenty-first century audience. While revealing the character of the men and telling the story of their journey, the interpretive focus of this exhibit is the interaction of Lewis and Clark with the diverse Native American cultures they encountered: what they learned, and what they misunderstood.
