The People of the Land & The New Discoveries Galleries

The PRD Group worked closely with curators from the Israel Antiquities Authority to design two special exhibitions to inaugurate the Museum of the Bible’s ongoing program of hosting exhibits from world institutions.

  • Client: Israel Antiquities Authority/Museum of the Bible
  • Location: Washington, D.C.
  • Size: 4,000 sq.ft. (The People of the Land); 1,500 sq.ft. (New Discoveries)

The People of the Land presents a premier collection of some of the most significant historical clues that help reveal the complex cultural history of the land of Israel. Artifacts are arranged chronologically to capture progressive periods of cultural change. Guests are greeted by a Canaanite human figurine from the 14th century BCE and end their visit at the touchable stone from the Western Wall of the Temple Mount. Each piece encourages deep personal connections to archeological history in contemporary Israel. Maps and stunning landscape murals set the geographical context while supporting videos explain the process of recovery and ongoing interpretation.

[W]ith hundreds of objects from the National Treasures collection and the installation of the various exhibitions, we had the pleasure to work side by side with [PRD]. They were the leading spirit of the exhibition design all the way from the beautiful color choice, the exhibition layout, the content development, the graphic design and the planning and mounting of the artifacts in the gallery.

We are thankful … for their meticulousness and their uncompromising desire to achieve the highest quality results while maintaining excellent working atmosphere. Based on our many years of experience in establishing archaeological exhibitions in Israel and around the world in cooperation with many diverse teams, we [have] great appreciation for their work.
