The State Legislature commissioned PRD’s design team to create a new kind of museum that would immerse Texans and visitors in an exciting learning experience, bringing them into contact with the people and places of the past, looking at history from the varied perspectives of the peoples who made it. Hailed as the first major new museum of the 21st century, the Texas State History Museum has received visitation nearly double the initial projections.
