The Global Water Center is creating a worldwide collaboration of safe water advocates and implementers with the transformational goal of ending water poverty in our lifetime for the 2.3 billion people who lack access to safe water. The Mobile Discovery Center (MDC) is traveling throughout the United States to build awareness and inspire a movement to activate this goal.
The MDC consists of three tractor trailers with immersive interactive exhibits exploring the themes Water is Life, Water and People, and Solving the Water Crisis. A fourth trailer delivers to each site an array of activity and engagement pavilions and a domed theater with a stunning video that introduces and personalizes the water crisis and the steps to solving it. In the activity pavilions, guests explore hands-on exhibits that show the proven technologies to move, test, and treat water. Other pavilions demonstrate how these technologies can be enabled anywhere in the world with solar power and satellite monitoring. Additional pavilions showcase WASH hygiene practices that enable sustainable community health transformation.
