The PRD Group worked with the George W. Bush Foundation and the National Archives to plan and design the nation’s 13th Presidential Museum. With their primary goal that the museum be educational, President and Mrs. Bush envisioned a learning center that explored the key decisions they made in a time of great consequence. Organized around themes of Opportunity, Freedom, Compassion, and Service, the museum presents a highly interactive experience in which visitors can explore the nature of Presidential leadership.

PRD was responsible for master planning, content development, media concepting, exhibit design, and implementation supervision. Working within a “black box” gallery designed by Robert A. M. Stern, PRD engineered the environmental, infrastructure, and structural fit-out of the exhibit space. In a true team effort, PRD worked closely with Cortina Productions, Design and Production, and Manhattan Construction.
I was very impressed with PRD’s creativity which was manifested in both large and small ways. …They devised a wonderful overall design that addressed our desire to talk about the principles that guided President Bush’s service in the White House. On the more intimate scale, … they showed a great talent in identifying and displaying artifacts, photographs, and documents that told or helped complete a story. They also showed a great awareness of and sensitivity for topics that were quite difficult to address.
