The Visitor Education Center introduces a new generation to the events of 9/11, the enduring relevance of our continuing response, and provides the storytelling context for the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial. The exhibit tells the Pentagon story of a national tragedy in a manner that respects the personal impact of the events while pointing toward the positive things that one can take away from this experience of a Memorial to life.

The events of history are told in the voices of those who lived it. First-person accounts provide the primary storyline while group activities help the visitor to see the larger context of those personal experiences. The designers help explain their concept for the Memorial offering insights into its unique language of visual storytelling.
The central Global Response area invites visitors to step into the story with their expressions of remembrance.
The final area, Always Remember, helps visitors explore ways to continue the response to 9/11 through acts of service and citizenship.
