The American Civil War Center challenged PRD to engage visitors in a new way of thinking about the Civil War to encourage an informed dialogue about its legacies. The exhibit places the War in the broader context of American history and explores events, and their multi-faceted meaning, from the perspectives of those who lived it: Union, Confederate, and African-American. PRD combined objects and media in innovative ways to engage the visitor in the “whole story” of the War and its legacy of identity, equality, and justice.
